Where can I get a rail installed on an AR?

I want to swap out my Daniel D Lite Rail with a Key Mod. Should be a fairly easy install, but I don't have the right tools. Both are free float, so I think it would just go on. I'd do it myself, but the Daniel Defense rails look like a pain in the arss - I'd just rather pay someone. ha Anyone know any reputable smiths that can do the install?

Thanks in advance!

Anyone with a wrench and either a vice or c-clamps should be able to tackle this project

The Daniel Defense light rail requires a special wrench for the barrel nut.
Yup.

Make sure you have the right barrel nut. If the Keymod has a specific one, it should come with it.

That sucks! Now I'll need to find one of these. [rolleyes] The KMR set I'm looking at from BCM comes with the whole kit. Maybe it's not even worth it to swap mine out? My whole thing is I'm never going to use even 90% of all this rail. Plus, I like the looks of the KMR. The only thing I'm running is the short BCM vertical grip and the Haley Inforce light.

Attached is my current upper.

Just curious - I'm having second thoughts about swapping out my rail now. I really want to build another rifle - do you think I just do a Keymod for the new build and keep this one as is?

Not a bad idea if you are going to build a new rifle anyway. DD rails are very high end and expensive $200-300+. There are much better rails for much lower prices these days - like Keymod rails.

The next build will consist of the BCM RECCE upper. That was my plan all along. It just seems silly to replace the rail totally, after giving much thought.

Get the BCM KMR rail. Fantastic rail with a really good lockup system that applies even pressure on the barrel nut and rail when tightened.

All you need to get it on is a rubber mallet and a heat gun ($30 total).

I'm going to get the rail eventually, I might just wait for the next build.
