I recently became interested in picking up a Mosin Nagant after reading up about them on the forum. I feel like I can't go wrong for the price, and it will be a nice addition to my growing collection.

I was wondering, where can I get one for a good price in Massachusetts? I tried doing some searches on this site but didn't turn up too many concrete answers.

Bron Classic Firearms in Fiskdale seems to be a good choice, but I'm located on the south shore, and that drive seems like a hike. Especially since the store hours aren't great.

Anyone have any suggestions of where else to buy and prices?

Thanks in advance!

location?

oops south shore. hmm..NVM my suggestion is a little far, sorry not much help. Look around the milsurp collectors pages.

Just curious, What was your suggestion? It might be worth the drive if prices/quality is good.

ah, just make a drive out of it. I got my Mosin at Brons, excellent rifle! About 15 min away from him, Bob's something and Archery have Mosins for $100 cash for green NES members. Buy a couple. 5min from Bob's there is another gun shop.

$99,Riverview Sales in East Windsor Ct. Price isn't any better than most places, but they had 4 crates (3 unopened last time I was there) but when you factor in gas, there are better deals to be had closer to home i'm sure. 2 week wait unless you have a CT permit or transfer to an FFL though.

I actually have been considering this... but I don't know if I have the will power to wait 2-3 moths before getting the license. Plus, with that license I'm afraid my credit card will suffer immensely :). I'd also like to check the gun out first hand before putting the money down, at least with my first MN buy.
Ever consider getting your C&R and buying one from one of those dealers who we don't mention in our posts?

stanleynickels, just run down to ACME ARMORMENT the few I seen there where great entry level and I believe Adam had some tins of ammo also that was priced right.
For the 150.00 or less, lets go out and blast a few rounds mosin there great fun.

I convince a young shooter looking for his first affordable bolt gun to purchase a mosin.
He bought one for 130.00 plus 880 rounds of ammo with the wooden crate for 175.00 not bad for 335.00 with tax
also dont forget to buy a gallon of windex

Not yet, unfortunately. Last Saturday was my only time I had a chance to go shopping for one, and I ended up going to the range for the day instead. The next couple of weekends are filled up too, so it might be a while. I'm definitely going to check out these places when some time frees up, and I'll keep you guys updated!

did ya get one ?>

They've been processing them rather faster than that. I think I got mine inside of a month.

I was at the Kittery trading post in Maine this weekend (it's only an hour and a half or so from central MA) and they had a Nagant for $300 bucks used. God I love that place. I bought 5 boxes of bird shot shells and didn't have to show ID or anything.

$300? Either it was real special or it was real overpriced.
