Why did Sig ruin the P229 grip?

just saw their website. great pistol design thrown out for new ugly ergonomic grip. can you still get the other version with the "p229"
engraving on the grip? any thoughts?

Yes you can still get the old grip if you don't want the E2.

Not to mention there are 9 gabillion used P229s out there in barely used condition.

.....because they shoot great and high bore axis isn't the end of the world. Was this a trick question?!

Try it before you diss it. I put the E2 grips on both my P229 and my P226. Outstanding grips. The feel is vastly improved, IMO. On my P229, I gladly shelved a $125 set of Hogue Aluminum Extreme grips in favor of the E2's.

If you ever get up to SoNH, let me know, and you can try them out.
