Why don't the search results, go by date ?

If I do a search, I will get dates from 3 years ago mixed in with current posts, in no discernable order ?! I just want to do a simple search that gives me the results from this decade ? Any Ideas ?

Click on the advanced search button and check off the “order by date” box.

It's XenForo. Feature not a bug. The search function was designed by Donner Partay LLC.

The search defaults to sorting by perceived relevancy to your search terms.

As others have pointed out, you can change this if you'd prefer chronological sorting.

To clarify, underscore, and beat a dead horse,
there's actually a user account preference setting for it:

Search Options​

• Default Search Order
• Most recent
• Relevance

The search order to use for quick searches, searching by thread, and the default value when loading the search form.​
