Coupon Kerfuffle

Sounds like a great deal to us, but liberals go berserk when they find discount coupons for guns and ammunition on the back of their Burger King receipts.

“I was appalled,” said lawyer Susan Wolf when she found the ad on her receipt, which read, “Good for one free box of ammo with gun purchase or 10% off.” The offer was placed by a Catonsville sporting goods shop, whose ownership was apparently under the mistaken impression that theirs is not an inherently evil enterprise.

It’s common for franchises to print coupons and advertisements for other businesses on the reverse of sales receipts, spurring sales for all concerned. But when Burger King corporate headquarters was told of the guns-’n-ammo ads, they immediately ordered the Baltimore franchise owner to get rid of them.
American handgunners might want to be aware of Burger King’s head-office attitude:

“It’s not the image that Burger King would like to be associated with in any way,” says corporation spokesperson Kim Miller. She didn’t mention whether Burger King will accept ads from porno shops or political campaigns.

Keep in mind, they probably would rather not be burdened with the business — or money — of law-abiding gun owners, either. Personally, I’ll have a whopper my way from now on — not at all.

By the way, that Burger King manager, Michael Sharifi, said the only complaint received was the one from the local lawyer. It seems other customers weren’t all that offended. Just what we need: another reason to hate lawyers.
