45acp with pre ban mags?

I carry a glock 21. If i was gay about capacity id carry a glock 20, more rounds and more power but more expensive to shoot.

I think too much emphasis is being placed on mag capacity and availability. I would concentrate on finding a 45 that worked well for me (I owned a beautiful Glock 45 that was simply too big for my hands) and worry about mag capacity later. Most 45s are available with ten round mags. We are only talking about three to four extra rounds in pistols that can be reloaded very quickly with spare mags that are easy to carry.

Tell that to the police officer who had a Glock 21 , and faced off against a guy with a sig 220. Read it from the ayoob files a while ago. Last 3 extra rounds were the ones that counted

I would gladly give up a few rounds if the pistol I selected gave me an advantage because it performed better than the hi cap competition.

went to fit a high rise beavertail in it and it was flopping around in the para frame.
would have had to done some welding and grinding to fit it clean

I fitted my two Para P 16s with Ed Brown beavertails. No problem. Both guns perform flawlessly. One is a stock P-16 that has had every part replaced with after market 1911 parts and the other was built from the ground up on a "gunsmith" or bare frame. Para can't do anything right. The stock Para had a habit of breaking barrel links every three thousand rounds or so. I decided to convert it into a longslide, so a new barrel was in order. I called Barsto and was lucky to get Irv Stone Jr. on the phone. When I described my problem he chuckled and told me that Para has the unfortunate problem of drilling the slide stop hole in the wrong place. He had me take some measurements on the frame and declared that the slide stop hole was .060 off. He added that amount to the rear of the new six in barrel at no extra charge. Problem solved.

You want a Glock 30 or 30S. 11 rounds in standard carry mode with a G21 13 round back up mag in your pocket. 24 rounds of .45 ACP in a concealable carry pistol set up is a pretty good package.

G21 with pre-ban 13 round mags. There aren't a lot of options in MA above 10. My G21 is full of awesome. Get some. [grin]

Love the look of a 1911, the STI's appear to be a bit out of my league price wise, and the Para's seem to be having quality control issues (along with Ruger's front sights snapping off of their 1911's of late). Sounding like G21 is the way to go.

Ive heard some people mention theyre a big gun to get a grip on. I have a Beretta 92fs which Ive heard get the same complaints, but I find it to fit comfortably in my hand. Is the G21 a similar size? Anyone own both?

I have a G21, and have shot a Beretta. They are both big, but in different ways. The G21 grip is wide (double stack), but I have no issues with it and have average hands, not huge by any means. It is also a relatively soft shooter (big honking slide) so easy to hang on to. Like all guns, best is to try one out to see if it fits.
