A strange store on Hampton beach

Cant be as strange as this one....

That's in P-town, wouldn't expect less. Also, 6 pages in and still no pics of the establishment.....

I enjoy Hampton too. Used to take the kids there all the time.

But you have to admit, it is pretty sleazy! Ever actually try staying at one of the hotels or renting a place? It is much nicer starting at the state park and just over the bridge to the south.

Salisbury used to be just as sleazy, but has started to improve over the last few years.

If you don't like Hampton (or are trapped on a rainy day) Bob's is just down the street :)

First time I went in there, this biker dude behind the counter was showing porn to his buddies on a laptop. I rent a lane and two pistols, a .22 Ruger which gave light strikes to most of the primers, and a loose Sig P226 which failed to go into battery with every other round. Somewhere around my 10th tap and rack, two guys and their girlfriends set up in a lane next to me. They obviously have never fired guns before and they start bouncing rounds off the floor and ceiling, despite shooting at a man-sized target about four feet in front of them. They're laughing the whole time, of course. RO is nowhere to be seen so I pack up and head out on my merry way.

In fairness, the next time I was in there a different counter guy was very professional and friendly and the shooters in the lanes next to me knew what they were doing.

First time I went in me and my friend didn't have to sign any thing to shoot group of black guys come in and they had to fill out paper work. It was busy so we had to wait. The guy behind the counter was pissed cause he couldn't watch the video of some side killing him self that happen there a month or so before .

They handed me the 44 degal broken . Safety tab was broken off on one side. Stove piped every other round.
P90s scope thing, was too dark to use lights up from fiber optic and was so scratched it was useless. Awesome bday gift lol .

I took a friend there since we where near by. I had a group of Asian students . Mixed girls and boys. Barely spoke English . All had glocks 9mm and 40 cals(saw the ammo boxes. None where shooting when we walked in.
I shot my 45 and my buddy told me to turn to my right .
Sure enough all the guys had a gun in there hand pointed my way. I think the sound scared the shit out of them I flipped and started yelling point the gun down range.

Me and friend left and told the guys well shoot after they leave. More then once they loaded the guns facing the glass and had loaded guns pointing at the counter . No one yelled at them .
The girls where wear school girl type dress skirts and tops. After the first one took a shot and had the brass go down there shirt and shot the ceiling I we left and didn't even ask for a refund . I only got 8 rds in that day..

They do have some cool guns to try but. They can be hit or miss with how good the function. Only safe time to go is at night when it's cold. The range is extremely cold so must people who stay are gun owners who are between ranges . .

That reminds me, when I was there the first time biker dude just waved me through without signing anything. Second time I was there, non-biker dude asked if I had shot at the range before so they've have my waiver on file. I said I'd been there before but never heard about any paperwork. The guy just facepalmed and said something like "Dammit I'm going to have to talk to biker dude again."

My aunt, uncle and cousins used to rent a place up there for the entire summer in the 1960s and 70s. From June to August they'd drop everything and head to Hampton. They'd swim, boat, water ski (I think), fish, hang out, do the boardwalk thing at night, etc. etc., then rinse and repeat all summer. We visited them a few times in the 1970s, and went mackarel (sp.?) fishing one time with them. It was great fun and I wish it had become a tradition of ours. It did not. By the early 1980s, the cousins were all grown and married and that was that for the former family vacations they took. Thirty plus years later those days are some fun memories for me. I went there a few years ago and the shooting range (not real guns; the boardwalk place with the fake rifles that make the tin cans jump, the flowers shake, the guy play the piano, and the dodo bird quack) was the same as I remember it being in the 1970s. That's "relic" enough for my tastes.

Was at Hampton Beach in 1985. Hadn't been back since; the wife & I took our son there in 2008. What a f**king pisshole. Never going back again.

Seriously! The beach has changed significantly since 1985 but the people that visit might be some of the same.
