that's too bad . a strange little shop where the people behind the counter could be seen sipping on a cold adult beverage. I was always treated very well there. if he is retiring I hope he has a long happy one

I knew his wife passed a couple of years ago, but didnt know about his son. It was a nice shop, i bought a couple of lefthanded guns from him. He had a lot nore gun than what was on the racks.

I stopped by again, the door still says" Closed until further notice". So I go to Pawtukaway Trading post in Raymond, and the entire store is completely empty. I 'm bumming now, 2 stores near me gone

Did he ever really have guns? I’ve stopped in a few times and it seemed like a fishing/archery shop.

He usually had a pretty full wall rack of long guns. The 2 lefthaned guns that I was looking for, he had downstairs.

Also he had .375 winchester rounds when no one else had them. Shit he .ight still have some.

I liked the wall of powder at Shooter's better. At least there you could SEE what was in stock. Unlike at Al's where you had to get him to look in the closet for you.

IIRC, I went into Al's shop a couple of times. Might have bought some small things, but nothing there was really worth getting.

IMO/IME, there are still a good amount of good local stores to visit in the area. Seems like a tough business to get into these days. Especially with the .gov making it even more difficult to stay in the business.

He carried a good amount of Browning guns......pretty crusty guy and last time I was in there years ago is wife was still alive, he seemed hammered and yelling at some dude for doing too much fingerf***ing and started yelling at the clouds about the internet ruining his life or something. Wife was trying to calm him down a bit.
