So I picked up a Mosin Nagant 91/30 a couple of weeks ago. I just got in stripper clips from cheaperthandirt.com and can't seem to figure out how they load in the rifle. There are the cuts in the top of the receiver where they start to slide down but stop. Is there a trick?

What??? Bought a Mosin Nagant. Why in the world did you not try to win my Mosin raffle????? Baffles me. $10 gets you a ticket. It's for charity. Link below!!! [smile][wink]

Have fun shooting her. They are a blast!!!!

Retarded? Hell no. It's better than you doing something really stupid and hurting yourself or ruining a gun out of ignorance. You're pretty smart for being humble and asking the question.

Someone asked me once, "was that a stupid question?"

I said, there is such a thing, but not when it comes to safety.

The world of guns is so varied, that it's stupid NOT to ask when confronted with a new "problem".

No one can know it all, but you'll generally be able to find someone on here that does know the answer to your specific question.

Good shooting.

No such thing as a stupid question. And if you ever ask an honest question, and someone makes you feel stupid, this person is not your friend, and this person's advice is not to be trusted.

Don't get discouraged if some of the clips don't feed as smooth as seen in that video. There are a lot of aftermarket ones out there that are a little out of spec and don't allow for smooth feeding.
You can still find original military clips on auction sites that work 100%. I was lucky enough a while back to score a case of Bulgarian 7.62x54 ammo all on stripper clips. If I had read this post this morning I would have thrown a few in when I sent you the MO for the movies.
