Have always wanted an FAL, unfortunately i cant own an FN FAL in CT. I was told that the DSA SA58 is the next best thing to an FN FAL that can be owned in CT. is that true? Do any of you guys have one? how do you like it?

Here's one on Gun Broker, located in Norwalk, CT

i think you cant own that in ct thats why hes selling it.

from the auction: "This is a Registered Assault weapon in CT, and the buyer will need to provide information for a for that goes to the state police prior to me shipping the gun to your FFL. I can only ship direct to an FFL and CT dealers will not take these in, even for a transfer."

Assuming he registered it befoe the ban, he can own it. Just can't sell it within CT. I looked at the list of CT specified assault rifles and SAR-48 is listed:

so back to the DSA... they dont seem like bad rifles, must at least be better than a century?? i saw one on gunbroker with a DSA lower with all imbel upper parts, that would be an interesting route to take

what you are looking at on gunbroker is a parts kit build on a DSA lower receiver.

Unless you trust and know the builder, I would pass on it unless you can test it out before you pull the trigger. Or build your own.

yeah i agree i would rather build my own then mess with someone else's potential hackjob. right now its looking like ill be scouting for a decently priced DSA in my area, they seem to be reasonably priced and from what little research ive had time to do so far, they seem to be pretty decent quality

Just get the base DSA - STG58 Austrian FAL Standard Rifle, .308 Cal. - STG58STD for $1,150.00 .
You will not regret a DSA made FAL type rifle.

DSA receivers are built using original tech drawings direct from Steyr. I think they also have some of the Steyr tooling, but I could have that wrong.

They are excellent, high quality weapons, and can be customized almost to your heart's (and wallet's) content.

I always laugh at the CT banned weapons list. "Wilkinson “Linda” Pistol?" What did they sell, like 7 of those?
