I picked up a used Model B Uzi carbine, and am looking for sources of spare parts, magazines, etc. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Also, if anybody have converted an Uzi into SBR, and don't mind sharing the experience, please post here or PM me.

Thank you,
Jack

The old stand by for parts was Vector, but they're not currently in business. DSA is selling some UZI stuff. http://dsarms.com

As far as SBRing it, just do it! I highly recommend not cutting the original barrel, but instead buying a MG barrel and having it turned to fit in your gun. The semis have a restrictor ring to prevent MG barrels from going in, but once you have your approved Form 1, its no longer a legal problem. Also, if you want, you can get the barrel marked with your info instead of the receiver. That way if you ever want to sell it as normal rifle down the road, all you have to do is pull the short barrel, put the long one back, and notify ATF. And the receiver won't have your name on it!

Highly recomend spending alot of time on UziTalk.com you can find most parts there and spend some time in the Library a ton of info. as far as Mags they are still fairly Cheap, usually some for sale there around $15.00 German contract mags they work 100%. I have had my Model b for quite a while, and have never needed a spare part. Spare Mags yes... Welcome to ther Uzi Club, I dont think you will ever regret it. I bought my Model B during the Ban Years, paid way too much for it,but have never regreted it.

As far a SBR it does not get much easier than the UZI. Fill out the form, Get it sighned if needed, send it to BATFE, wait........ Get form back, order Semi short barrel or modified Full Auto Barrel. get Reciever Engraved. and your done. I would recomend getting another barrel, and keep the original IMI barrel intact.

There is a guy Named Troy @ http://www.barrelxchange.com/ that makes nice short barrels, I got one 8 1/2" it is what some people call FBI or Secret Service Length. It allows the Uzi to fit in a Samsonite case or a Brief case. It sticks out about 1/8 " past the barrel nut.
