I'd like to ad a bolt action rifle to my collection. I'm not picky on the caliber, just not a .22 as I already have one.

I came across Jallen enterprises that makes the stock for a Remington 700.

I was curious if there was a method to piece this rifle together instead of buying the whole Remington rifle to immediatly throw away the stock.

To get a rifle looking like this: http://www.jallenenterprises.com/jae700rsa.htm
Whats left after buying the stock? Just a reciever and barrel?

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Anythings possible - what's your budget? [wink]

Receiver, barrel, trigger & magazines, basically. For example:

R700 Action

Shilen R700 barrel (needs a gunsmith to install)

AICS Mags

Lots more options than those, of course. There are a lot of smiths who work on R700s.

There will be a few other bits & pieces, I'm sure. I'm more familiar with Savage bolt actions than Remington. Haven't seen that particular stock before - looks interesting, but pricey.

Those stocks are pretty sweet, when I was in CA a buddy of mine had an M1A in one. HEAVY, but it made that M1A quite the shooter.
