Should the slide on a brand new PM9 feel a bit gritty when racked?

Also, the frame on my M&P9 had steel inserts for the slide rails. The PM9 has some embedded metal on the plastic frame where the slide contacts the frame. However, it's far from the whole length of the frame. Are there other plastic framed handguns that are like that?

I have a PM9 that I carry just about every day. I've not noticed a "gritty" feeling when I rack the slide though. Mine had gone through the initial break in period Kahr recommends once I bought it. If yours is new I wouldn't be surprised if it does feel that way.

I know what your talking about concerning the metal tabs. Mine is the same way. It seem similar to my G26.

Thanks. I do need to do the break in so I won't worry about it yet.

I compared it to my Sig 229 which is probably a bit unfair.

The reviews I read on the PM9 pretty much all say its "very tight" or needs "extensive break-in" before its a very nicely shooting gun.
