Maybe the sight is C for colt? Looks maybe like there is a C in a circle on the cross bar?

From what they said on Arfcom the Saco barrels were replacement barrels (I believe they said 70's for the year). Since it looks like an A1 and should have a 1/12 twist I'd say it's definitely possible.
