ar15 safety detent spring!!

Well, when someone tells you to be careful, then you should be careful... I tried replacing my grip for my Bushmaster and kinked my selector detent spring... called bushmaster and they are sending me a new one, but i'll probably kink it again... So, can someone provide me with some info to help complete this monstrous task correctly?

when i replaced my grip i held the lower upside down and slowly put preasure on the grip to move in.right before i got to the spring i used a buisness card (one made from plastic) to hold the spring down. and just kept pushing the grip on. it was my first atempt for me but it worked.

Just make sure it goes in the hole and you're fine. Just takes even, consistent pressure.

Rhythm, stroke, timing and thrust is important too!

Oddly enough i've never had a problem with it kinking. I guess the best advice is to go slow and check to make sure it's going in straight.
