Bad slide finish?

I received an aftermarket Glock compatible slide and on one side the finish looks a little off. Tried rubbing lightly with a cloth, but it didn't do anything. I circled the area in the photo where it is most noticeable. It exists in other areas on this side of the slide, the other side seems unaffected. Is this a problem with the finish, or do I need to do something to make it look normal (oil maybe?)

First and second picture show the same side, third picture is the other side, which looks pretty normal to me.

Yeah, that looks like oil residue from storage. Try bore cleaner or even just a clean rag and see if you can wipe off the residue.

Looks like oil residue. Just wash the stripped slide it in dish soap and hot water. Ensure you dry it off thoroughly inside and out. Obviously oil it after washing.

If it isn't oil residue, you could cerakote it or just spray paint the thing assuming it isn't some high dollar Zev like slide.
