Budget .22lr

It really does depend on the purpose, but my knee jerk reaction:

* Taurus TX-22

* Non-budget, Browning Buckmark.

If you don’t want to feel left out, Ruger MkIV. But don’t plan to ever change the barrel to something longer, shorter, or threaded.

Ruger Mk and Bucks are basically the same price level

What's the best semi auto 22 pistol that isn't fussy with feeding the cheapest dirtiest bulk brick shit? And isn't a mini-mag queen?
Budget? I’d say the Taurus TX-22 Had one for years, run it suppressed and without and it always works without issue.

Mk iv is a great gun, but LR only
Wrangler will shoot anything

Sure. A SA revolver will shoot anything. But slow and boring, IS slow and boring.

I have a single six in 22lr/22mag.

Yawn.

Please buy it from me.

ETA: I’ve had it for 7-9 years. I’ve put about 50 rounds through it. Yawn

Can always add more 22LR pistols, and then rifles, to the collection. Start with one, then add the rest. I've not, yet, taken the Wrangler out to the range. I have some 22 shorts to use with it, along with plenty of 22LR. I'll probably take my 22/45 Mark IV out the same day. Maybe even the 10/22 Takedown. :D

I think I have 6 or so .22 pistols.

Great way to shoot on a budget.

Got the opportunity to put a can on my 22/45 in new Hampshire

❤️

Can't really go wrong with Ruger MK IV. They went from being impossible to take down to being the easiest takedown of any 22 pistol I've seen.

I got the volquartsen trigger parts to get a better trigger.

About a decade or longer ago I had a Smith and Wesson 22A-1 which I really liked, and they used to have a lifetime guarantee on them, not sure
if that's still true. But I bet they are inexpensive now used.

I'm curious about all the hate for the G44. I mean, I would've made different design decisions, but mine has been more reliable than my SR-22

I have one of the 22S-1. Same as the 22A however a steel frame instead of aluminum. They are also very accurate with the barrels being made on the same line as the Model 41. I've seen them run from $250 up to $400. The biggest problem with these pistols is getting magazines. Magazines are out there on the used market but expect to pay $$.

I have an H&R 686. 22LR and 22WMR. Whatever Chris wants for his Single Six I will sell my H&R for less! [rofl]

Love my older Ruger Mk II. I enjoy cleaning guns and the assembly can be frustrating but can be done in short order. I really like my newer Sig P322. If I wasn't so persistent in trying to use up old, ziploc bag style .22 ammo it runs great on most modern .22 that I've tried. Runs good, easy to disassemble, around $400. And, makes a great training gun for other semi-autos as the manual of arms is similar, the feel, the operation. Quite easy to transition folks from this (I use it while training new shooters) into a Sig P320 or any modern semi-auto striker fired handgun.

I'm a revolver fan, and enjoy the Zen aspect of shooting single action. There appear to be a ton of Super Wranglers on GB under $300 but if you can come up with a bit more cash, consider a used Single Six convertible (both LR and WMR cylinders). You cannot safely shoot LR out of a WMR cylinder. It appears the Super Wrangler has a 5.5" barrel. Single Sixes have a few different barrel lengths--I preferred the balance of the 4.6" barrel over the longer ones.

We call that "relaxing".

Talk to this guy; he sounds desperate:

I have a single six in 22lr/22mag.

These old H&Rs and NEFs sound bulletproof (heeheehee) from the tons of reviews I've read online. Convertible, appears to have a 4.6" barrel, plus it's single action/double action. If you don't make a deal with this guy, I might:

If you had to get a .22 lr would be ruger wrangler or semi auto like Sig p322 , Walter 22 , ruger mk 4 or something else on a budget under ?
Get a used Ruger mk3 they are fantastic. A bit tricky to take apart the first time but once you get used to it they are fine.
I have the target model and it’s fantastic.

Mine runs great if I feed it NOTHING but CCI Stingers. But that defeats the purpose of a .22LR Pistol - cheap training of the basics. If I want to run bulk Federal / Remington it chokes harder than Reptile's auto-E-asphyx sessions. I keep saying I am going to break it down, really give it a good go over, but I end up just leaving it to be a malfunction trainer. I really should though, given my kitchen table is already ruined courtesy of the wife spilling nail polish remover.....

it is a topic where it gets tricky, as victory and ruger mk4 are guaranteed to cycle on subsonic ammo that is preferable.
glock kit i had would not run on anything subsonic, and wanted either cci AR or aguila se. some others may also require same.

as a result of that i got a shitload of supersonic 22lr ammo now, that i do not use at all and most likely will not, ever - and too hesitant to offer for sale to anyone, as, i generally keep all the ammo i get. so it simply sits on a shelf now, with no real prospects to be in need any time soon.

tons of aguila and cci, while all i use now are subsonic top quality norma, SK, eley.

Sig P322, especially if you have a P365. The P322 is cheaper to shoot and essentially the same size. I wish it came with the 20 rd mags the free staters get.
