Chance to own a piece of history - M1 Garand Serial Number 5.

Folks have been trying to respect the designer by pronouncing his name how he did (allegedly).
Im guessing JCG is looking down and feeling well respected seeing his 1930s dream still running ….
I bet he rolls his eyes when people say “en bloc clip” vs “clip” or just “en bloc”

My G uncle wwii vet used to laugh if my dad or I said en bloc …. He would say
“Clip its clip we aint french”
he also would say its the only thing good to come out of Canada

John Garand was born in Saint-Rémi in the province of Quebec, Canada and is French Canadian by birth (his name is actually Jean Cantius Garand). So the "proper" pronunciation of his name would be the French: ʒɑ̃ ɡaʁɑ̃ (sounds like gay-run), which is neither /ɡəˈrænd/ gə-RAND nor /ˈɡærənd/ GARR-ənd. Most who knew him said he pronounced it GARR-end, rhyming with "errand".

This is easily a rifle that gets bought, is displayed and never shot.
If I was loaded I wouldn't allow that. I would buy them and allow Everyone here to shoot a piece of history!
