Looking to join a club in my area (Derry) so I shook the internet tree. Pelham Rod & Gun and Chester Rod & Gun seem to have the ripest fruit for me. Would love to hear any reasons to join or recent drama to avoid from either.

My neighbor is a Chester member and has informed me the trap drama levels are high this year. A quick read here on Pelham seems to have similar FUDDery going on there as of last year...

Current Chester membership backlog has me slated for January, 2014. Is it worth the wait? Does Pelham have the same new member overload?

I have 25yd and 100yd ranges on my own property but would really like to rub elbows with my own kind. I reload a bit and shoot a bit more. I'd love to try trap but my main interests are paper and pins. Maybe a little leather too...

I've shot pins at Chester, a lot of fun....I'm a member of Pelham. It's 4 minutes from my house, can't beat it...expensive, but a lot to offer and utilize.
There is no member wait.

If you're in Derry, think about and look at Londonderry Fish & Game Club, Londonderry Fish & Game Club
From what customers have told me, it has less rules than Chester. Membership is $120 and may be reduced by work hour credit.

I did look into that but didn't see anything in the event calender that interested me. I'd really like to get some skill in some type of action shooting. Maybe there is more going on in Londonderry than meets the untrained eye?

That is why I posted this question. Looking for input. Thanks for yours!

Action shooting is allowed and IIRC, DRFT, Rob Pincus and Snake Machine have held classes there. If you are alone on either utility range or with Ok from others that may be at the range, you may move forward of the firing line, draw from holster, etc..

They are also building 200 yard & 400 yard ranges.
