So it sounds like the process to get my NH R permit isn't a big deal, but I have a question about my NH NR permit when I become a resident. Does it become void when I move to NH? Can I CC from when I move into the state but before I receive my NH res permit? I know I can open carry...

You could probably get your best answer by calling the NSP Licensing unit and asking them.

I would imagine it's no good when you move to NH. I didn't worry too much, they had my resident license ready in 10 days. When you go to the town PD to apply for your resident one ask them about using your NR while you wait for your RES.

Remember NH doesn't treat it's residents like 5 year olds you may be surprised at what they tell you.

Just open carry in the meantime. Bonus points for scaring sheeple.

With one caveat- if you don't have a valid NH CCW, you can't
step into a motor vehicle with a loaded gun strapped to your side....
the NH pistol permit covers concealed carry, but it also acts as an
exception for an otherwise "prohibited" act- carrying a loaded
handgun in a motor vehicle.
