Off and on I get the idea of buying a 5 1/2" Ruger Vaquero. I doubt I'll ever shoot CAS, but SAAs and their clones are just cool.

Holy MOly... I'll have to find the time to take pictures of all my CAS guns.

Dennis:

Love that Trapdoor. How well does it shoot?

Chris

I think I read that the sights are set for 300 yards because it shoots high at 100. So once I compensate for that, it's a tack driver.

It's pretty heavy so it takes up the recoil of the .45-70 just fine. You could shoot it all day without much of a problem. NOT like Goose's .45-70 which weighs in at about a pound and a half and will tear right thru your shoulder. [smile]

There's something 'special' about shooting it. It's like nothing I've got.

Well here is the aforementioned firearm. I don't know if it qualifies as a Cowboy action Gun, but it is a single shot .45-70 and my favorite gun. H&R Buffalo Rifle.

That looks like some nice leather. What brand is it?
http://www.sanpedrosaddlery.com/ For the holsters it's his Tombstone line, which is budget, but not cheap. The belt is just one of his regular cartridge belts. Entire cost was approx $200.

He is sloooooooooooowwwwwwwwwwwwww, but it is guaranteed for life no matter how bit or small you waste line becomes. He will modify at no charge.

I think it absolutely qualifies. Great looking rifle. I've been considering a rifle in .45-70. The Pedersoli Springfield Trapdoor looks very cool.

I thought I'd dredge up this old thread. I was taking some photos this weekend and realized that I really didn't have any decent ones of the cowboy guns.

Spartan Coach Gun (12 gauge) and Ruger Vaquero (.44-40)

I think the Uberti rifles have some of the nicest wood I've seen on any rifle.

Thanks for looking,

Chris
