The grip dimensions look to be a long sweep - I'm not used to seeing it - I'm used to shotgun type POW sweeps.
I hope you are happy with it's performance and fit - looks to be a nice item. Please post up a review or follow up on how it shoots for you - What are you gonna glass it with?
The rifle is here now and I shot it some. The 140 X's keyholed and even 140 gr Sierra Pro Hunters (flat base) were not that accurate.
I found that it's twist is 1-12" which is slow for a 7mm RM who's standard is 1-9".
I loaded some 120 gr Noslers and Hornady's and will shoot them soon.
The stock is even more attractive than the original pictures however it has no finish or little finish. It might stain or get wet? After the season I may put a finish on it.
Look at a tung oil finish or a mix of tung and spar varnish - this will change the wood color and need to be touched up here and there but will not fill the checkering. Look at a few shotgun/huting sites like Upland Journal for more info - great piece, I hope you figure it out.
Thanks for the tip on the Tung oil. I may take the rifle around to a smith to ask what finish to use.
The grip is just fine. It's not too far back at all for me.
I shot it today and it's very accurate with 120's. I may shoot it again tomorrow to see if it says sighted in with a cold barrel. They say it's going to turn colder and windy later in the week.
I shot the new 7mm mag. again today and it makes very small groups with 120 Noslers. One two shot group at 200 yds was one inch and the other only 7/8"!
The powder is H4350. Since the twist is 1-12" that's the longest bullet.
