Customize my Bushmaster XM-15 ORC

I recently picked up a new Bushmaster XM-15 ORC (2nd picture http://www.bushmaster.com/firearms/XM-15.asp). I'd like to remove the M4 style hand guard and replace with pica tinny rails. Someone mentioned it's just a pop out hand guard and pop in the new one. How do I know what to order?

Bought it here in MA. They removed the factory mag and gave me a 10 shot mag. They also pinned the stock. I'm assuming that means it's MA compliant.

What you are looking for is a drop in two piece hand guard. This is the quickest way to get some rails on your Bushy. Some manufactures with drop in two piece picatinny rails are MidWest, Daniels Defense Blackhawk etc etc. Stay away from UTG or any of that airsoft stuff.

I was asking more about the MD. Wondering what the flash hider had been replaced with and if it has already been permanently attached. That may alter your options somewhat.

Here is how you do it:

You don't need hand guard tool.....you only need that if your doing a shot ton of work on ARs.
There are drop in guards....
You need drop in or 2 pc handguards something like these.

If pinned and welded your optiond are drop in or 2 pc OR remove muzzle device....

I have a yhm 2 pc drop in pic rail sitting around. Its a carbine length. I first put it on my bushmaster before going to a free float. PM if interested.
