Deals and steals

Oh. I got all excited, thinking it was for coffee. What was that, Folger's Mountain Grown?

Folgers. Mountain House. Both freeze dried. Maybe both are taste-tested at Maison Robert in Boston. LOL

This
Worst. "donut." chain. ever.

Yeah. Maybe if someone had explosive diarrhea on the rack of cooling donuts you would be right. But, and I'm NOT a KK fan, on a crappy day, KK will beat the piss out of Dunkin on their BEST day.

Dunkin - here is a donut made 50 miles away at least 24 hours ago, if not 48, using on the lowest quality ingredients.

KK - here is a donut made HERE in the last 4 hours using questionable ingredients.

2 day old KK are effectively Dunkin donuts. But they're at least FRESH.

Gosh I miss Colonial Donut. :(

I would argue that if you were at the store in the morning when the red light was on and you got the plain glazed directly out of the fryer / conveyor belt, then they were delicious.
That's the only acceptable time to grab a box of fat pills and a quart of milk.

So they're kind of like French Fries then? Only good when fresh and hot, otherwise you realize how utter craptastic they are?

Maybe, the level of sugar on those things was absurd though. Like unnecessarily sweet. Blech. I can't even make it through 1 of those things. And you're talking to a guy who wout eat huge donuts and coffee ring things off the roach coach at work years ago. KKs were just like mainlining sugar to me.

how about the 'regular' coffees?? Had enough sugar for 4-5 six years olds.

Dunkins donuts are generally crap too, but in a different way, they just taste bland as hell.

Not sure which is worse bland or RAW DIABEETUS.

"How about no" to both. f*** their shitty overrated donuts. Give me a f***ing Everett comissary truck donut any day of the week, curb stomps that shit. [rofl] (sadly they dont make them anymore, IIRC according to my truck guy back then)

[rofl]

Wow, I miss those roach coach donuts too. I’m pretty sure they used to come from Mike’s donuts in Everett. My favorite was plain!
I also miss when the roach coach used to come stocked Christmas Eve with nips and cans of beer.

When you go to McD's or BK and the fries are sitting under the warmer ask for your fries without salt and shamelessly take the salt from the condiment bar.

Fresh fries every time.

Donna's Donuts in Tewksbury. The place hasn't been updated since the 80's but the donuts are fantastic. The honey dipped are great, especially when they are fresh out of the back and are still warm inside.

Was looking for this. Agreed.

No hazmat fee for powder at Brownells

Thanks for posting this deal amongst the coffee nonsense.

I have a Brownells edge account so I would get free shipping as well. Unfortunately, "for your safety," they require signature on delivery; which is not workable for me.

I am better off using free ship to store at Cabela's.

But thanks again.

So Brownells only uses FEDEX?

I have one component supplier that allows me the UPS or FEDEX choice and I only go with UPS since they’ll just leave it.

I did have something come FEDEX that the shipper required a signature, so I just routed it to my local Walgreens to pick it up. Much more convenient than waiting around for whenever FEDEX might appear.

I must admit, seeing this GIF brings back a painful memory for me...or more specifically, for my wife. Just a few weeks ago, when I was on a trip down in Dallas, I got a panicked call from my wife who was on her way to the ER. Seems after not sleeping well at all the night before because our house alarm kept going off in the middle of the night, she accidentally, while half asleep, applied what she thought was her eyedrops to her eyes. But in actuality, she was using this product that I keep on our bathroom vanity for sealing up the cracks in my fingers/hands. Yes, it's tissue adhesive; basically superglue for the skin:

Needless to say, I may never live that down.

This happened to my son when he was 3. My daughter 5 gave him super glue. And he glued his eye shut. After a panicked anmblance ride to mass eye and ear he dr was like don’t worry. According to Dr superglue was originally developed as glue for eye surgery to glue lens back on.

Bought some of that Mountain House Stuff, prices were half off list, yea, I'm a sucker. Need to stop reading this thread.

It tastes great and lasts something like 25 or 30 years in the cans. I used to grab some pouches for me and the kids back when EMS or whatever outdoor store was in Silver City Galleria a billion years ago. Chili Mac was a big hit.

No. Folger's is just regular coffee.

Here's the ad:

Dammit. I'm thinking. . . . . no. I'm right and you're right!

Good to know... my son will probably do the same thing

Yeah FedEx. All my normal orders I get 2-day shipping, which I think makes the $49.95 annual fee for Edge a pretty good deal.
But seeing as how I do not normal order powder from them I am not sure if the signature thing for Hazmat is FedEx or Brownells rule, but it does not allow an opt out on the Brownells website.

While working down Cape Cod I discovered the best donuts I ever tasted. Well worth the trip.

[thumbsup]
I went to Captain Baker Donut Shop this morning, it’s a few miles from my office. It was really good, although pricy for their boutique fat pills. The half dozen custom made was $17, but they custom create the glaze and toppings while you watch. The donuts were a little crispy on the outside and soft inside, but perfectly cooked, really exceptional.
