deleted cookies and password forgot

I deleted my cookies, and it prompted for my password. I got it wrong the first and second time, but the third time I got it right. After that it put me to a remind me and send me an e-mail. However I was already logged in.

Not a biggie, but if I got it right that third time, why does it ask me to send an e-mail?
