I did not believe I would EVER fill my safe. Sentry is also a LIAR to call this a 14 gun safe. Anyway when rearranging the long guns to accomidate the new Krag, I lined up the military stuff for a pic.

Next up is a '73 Trapdoor Springfield.

Pete, that's a great line up!

I still need a 1917. I'm hoping to find a nice original Eddystone, as I grew up a couple towns over from Eddystone, PA, where they were manufactured.

Thanks for posting,
Chris

Greg Cauldwell from The Powder Keg had an M1917 when I was there buying the Krag. His number is 508-339-6574. Not sure of the price or maker.

I second the praise for the origial nam look AR15. I used to think (like 12 months ago) that the old m16 look was pretty bland, but for some reason I've just pulled a 180 on that opinion lately.

Well done Sir.

stoneypete,
Nice lineup!

Before I bought my safe (about ten years ago), a friend said, "buy one twice as big as you think you need."

I shouldn't have listened to him. I should have bought one three times as big as I thought I would need!

I too received the same advice. And I too did not listen.[rolleyes] This is just the military rifles. I still have a shotgun, 2 .22's, Dad's rifle and all his and my pistols in the safe. Getting crowded.

I for one am not impressed!

There is no 03A3.[laugh]

Aside from that Pete, you have a great start on a complete collection. Next should be some early Springfields like trapdoors, etc. Madmarc may be able to score you some as he has a few nice examples.
Oh... and you need some Mossberg trainers too! I see them offered here and there and will PM you when I see another.
I'm always happy to spend a fellow NESrs money, I learned it from Ken (USMA82) [smile]

I want an 03A3 too. I had a beautiful trapdoor about 5 years ago. It shot like a dream. I had to sell it because family life got expensive. That is next on the list. Then perhaps a civil war Springfield and the list continues to grow and grow and grow.

Great collection, as was already mentioned you need a 03/a3 and some other U.S. milsurps. But what you really need is a mosin or 2.

Thought about it, but no. I decided last year or perhaps the year before to limit my collection to US only. I even sold off my German stuff.

The long gun wish list:
M1903-A3
Trapdoor Springfield
'65 Spencer Carbine
'63 Springfield
'61 Springfield

Pistols
Beretta M9 (needle in a haystack find one of the M9 commeratives available in MA)
M1917 S&W or Colt (or both)
'73 Colt SAA 7 1/2" Cavalry model AND 5 1/2" Artilery model

So many wants. So little green. Why did I chose the most expensive genre for milsurp collecting? And it's only going to get worse once the new move PACIFIC comes out.

You just contradicted your first post! When did we take over Norway...

But you have a nice collection, I see a bunch in yours that I need in mine.

Nice stuff pete. Is the guitar at the left high capacity? [wink]
I was wondering when someone would comment on that. I'm just glad I saw and croped out the laundry basket. Don't need to "air my dirty laundry" online.

No didn't. All these rifles are US Military rilfes or copies of US rifles.

The Krag was initially developed by the Norwegians even though it was adopted by the U.S. in the 1890s. So I was thinking along the lines of developed and made in the U.S., symantics...

Relative

Stoney I found these photos in an old family album. It may be a long lost relative[wink] Good god does that mean we may be related[shocked]

Really nice collection you have there!

As to the Mosin Nagant, Remington and Westinghouse made them so they are U.S.. So now you have a reason to buy yet more rifles and that is a good thing.

Well we could be cousins. DISTANT cousins.[wink][smile]

Like I really need another reason to buy more rifles.[smile]
