Follow federal laws and do whatever you want with it.I have a pre 8/1/24 fixed mag lower registered as a rifle in 2020. How does the recent regulation affect this build?
Some of the fixed mag lowers never had the mag release milledunfix the mag. get a real mag. You have a pre 8-1 lower, there are no longer any regulations on it apart from federally.
Also, never shop at the FFL who sold you that. Name them. Shame them. They ripped you off when they could have sold you a regular AR-15 but instead kowtowed to Maura Healey's edict.

Yeah I guess...That would be part of the "unfixing" I mentioned.
Yes, you can do it with a cordless drill.Yeah I guess...
They could have sold him nothing at all and hed really be up the creek.unfix the mag. get a real mag. You have a pre 8-1 lower, there are no longer any regulations on it apart from federally.

Yeah. What about the slot on the opposite side?Yes, you can do it with a cordless drill.
Cordless drill, they sell Jigs. People are very spoiled nowadays with 3d printers and "80" percent lowers that need a couple holes drilled. But back in the early 2010's... We had guys making AKs out of shovels and AR's out of wood. If you truly can't figure out how to unfix the mag on the lower with 15 years of posts/videos. Just spend the $200 bucks and buy one in the classifieds.Yeah. What about the slot on the opposite side?
Lol that's not the point. If it's worth it to you then great. I can work metal. Just seems like too much effort for a bastard lower. Maybe I have been spoiled through the decades.Cordless drill, they sell Jigs. People are very spoiled nowadays with 3d printers and "80" percent lowers that need a couple holes drilled. I understand the comment on just picking up a preban lower but depending on how you read the regulations that wouldn’t be in ‘my’ possession as of 8/1
A good amount of people bought the fixed mag lowers to make AR pistols (as that was the only easy path under the old law).I posted here for clarification after reading the pinned post on this. I understand nobody has all the answers here so just looking to hear thoughts. Seems that I’m maybe one of only a few people that purchased a fixed mag lower…
