A Florida man who was indicted for assaulting police officers and setting off an explosive device during the Jan. 6, 2021 attack on the U.S. Capitol had his case dismissed after President Donald Trump issued a sweeping pardon for the rioters — but then got arrested one day later.

Per the article he was arrested for things he did prior to the pardon:
Online federal court records of Ball’s indictment show he was charged with possession of a firearm and ammunition by a convicted felon on Aug. 6, 2024, listing his past convictions as domestic violence battery by strangulation in 2017 and then resisting law enforcement with violence and battery on law enforcement officer, both in 2021. The arrest warrant filed in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida was issued on the same day as the indictment, and now notes that Ball was arrested on Jan. 22, 2025. He has not yet entered a plea.

Pardon was for Fed charges.....

State charges for other things...not so much.

I only skimmed the article, but it appears he's not being targeted for J6 but for other despicable things like beating his wife.

In other words, at least as I read the article, beyond his J6 related trouble, he ALSO had OTHER crimes in the fire. He can rot. I hate abusers.

Trump’s pardons and commutations, as broad as they were, offer Ball no protection here for these gun charges stemming from a separate indictment. Similarly, any new crimes committed by other Jan. 6 rioters would result in new charges and arrests, and they would have no shield from prosecution.

Totally misleading headline, as it implies the in-duh-vidual commited a gun crime immediately after being released. The original arrest occurred back in August, and the state hadn't moved on prosecution, probably because the subject was already imprisoned.

JASPER COUNTY, Ind. — An Indiana man recently pardoned by President Donald Trump for storming the Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, is dead after being shot by a sheriff’s deputy while allegedly resisting arrest.
Matthew Huttle, 42, of Hobart was shot and killed during a traffic stop near the Jasper/Pulaski county lines on Sunday afternoon. A deputy with the Jasper County Sheriff’s Department pulled Huttle’s vehicle over on State Road 14 at approximately 4:15 p.m.
Indiana State Police said the traffic stop led to the deputy attempting to arrest Huttle, but Huttle allegedly resisted and struggled with the officer. This “altercation” led to the deputy firing his gun and killing Huttle. According to state police, Huttle was in possession of a firearm during the traffic stop. No additional details have been provided, however, about the altercation between Huttle and the deputy and what Huttle was being arrested for.
It appears that they got him by going after his Uncle and then seeing Matthew on his phone and family communications.

Title of this thread should be changed to something like this or maybe we just need a new thread on Matthew Huttle being shot?

Matthew Huttle, 42, was shot and killed on Sunday when police pulled his vehicle over, and he allegedly resisted and ended up in an "altercation" with an officer, an Indiana State Police (ISP) statement said.

It remains unclear what he was being arrested for. Police added that Huttle had a firearm in his possession during the traffic stop.
