From GlockTalk: G21SF Kaboom thread

That sucks.

Sounds like a squibbed 26th round blocking the barrel for the 27th round... or a double charged 27th round?

PMC isn't the greatest commercial ammo is it?

That ammo is among the worst, I have heard.

I used a bunch of PMC and I actually thought it was halfway decent, but I think now they're basically out of the ammo business altogether.

I have heard someone tell me that PMC stands for "Poorly Made Cartridges" but I haven't seen anything to back that up. [laugh]

One suspicious thing here is the gun is nearly brand new- barrel metallurgy defect? (Glock is not known for having the best barrels to begin with, so this wouldn't surprise me...
These are the most interesting KBs because usually in the end they can't positively blame the ammo.

Well.... hopefully the pictures will give some telling info. Don't the kabooms usually occur in the barrel region if it was a squib blockage? Likewise, the chamber will most likely blow out if it was a double charge right?

And I doubt it... but it'd be nice if he had kept the casing too.

I guess we'll see when the photos are posted.

wow one guy said hes experienced 4 kB's

no pics as of yet. just a bunch of grown men acting like High School girls so far :(

Apparently the pics are on page 5...

Edit: From looking at the pics, that's actually a fairly benign KB to what one usually sees. (usually in the worst ones the frame gets cracked or the side blows out, etc. ) Looks like the case ruptured in a big way, could have been a bad round, but there really aren't enough pics of the internals to show other damage.

I bet that guy's trigger finger doesn't feel very good, though.. looks like it blew the trigger in half!
