German k98 opinion

I've got my eye on a been there, done that looking byf41 k98. Been on hunt for one for a while to replace my byf43 grandfather bring home from the Ardennes in ww2 I was forced to sell back in divorce. I'm shocked to say least to see that the prices have gone full retard short bus high even for junk since last looked many moons ago. This one has no import stamps, no Russian capture marks, very little original finish and a great bore. Most of the main parts match, with some stock parts matching themselves. For its price being less than I see for things dredged from ocean, think would be a keeper.

I wouldn’t pass if the price was right. I’m a sucker for walnut What are they asking?

Walnut is a plus, especially later on. Needs a rod and a hood. German hoods are through the roof now.

At this point its if you want it you pay.
Should grabbed a few from wideners when they where $200 each and the other “mausers” where even cheaper.
I still laugh st myself when I passed on a crate of mosins for $1100 because they wanted $250 to ship it.
