hated the grips that came on my Tokarev.So I sat down and made my own

i was just getting ready to do so myself.
got some nice pieces of curly maple and claro walnut off ebay but didn't get to start yet.
what wood have you used?
is there a reason why you decided to keep sling loop?

also how exactly did you recreate mounting bracket? did you reuse what came with original grips or made something else?

The wood I used is tigerwood I had a piece sitting out in my barn. I left the lanyard loop on just because I didn't feel like cutting it off.i cut the insides of the grips by making stencils and cutting a little at a time.I reused the original pins and made new inside levers. I was missing a lever anyway

looks great - nothing better than wood grips IMHO.
I imagine most of this was done with chisel work?

No chisel work involved. Bandsaw,sandpaper,drill press,tin snips, grinding wheel that is all I used for tools

Cool. I kinda miss having a Derringer. Mine was an American Derringer Model 1 stainless .38/ .357

I fired 2 rounds of full load .357 HP's through it once. Once. That shit hurt.
