I would hope gun and ammunition manufacturers would stop selling to NY or providing services. Every NY police department should be on the banned list for sales. If they are going to threaten lawsuits and be generally a pain to deal with - there is no benefit to doing business there.

Comes under the same as the climate scam - stop selling fossil fuels in NY state.

This is not going to matter soon. More and more payment processors are supplying what is called line item information back to the issuing banks. This is basically a list of everything you purchased. So regardless of the merchant category code, sporting good store or something more specific to firearms/ammo, the issuing bank will have a complete itemized list of everything you purchased.

The limits currently are in how much data does the merchant send the payment processor and if the issuing bank wants the line item details from the payment processor.

I spent about 6 months last year working on upgrading all our software to collect line item details from the merchant and forward it on to issuing banks etc. if they wanted it. All the code was there already it was simply a case of turning it on everywhere and connecting it all together. I think you'll see merchant agreements with payment processors and banks start to require all this data to be collected and distributed.

This goes far beyond guns/ammo. They want to see details on taxes, tips, service charges and everything like that in addition to all the items and services you bought.
