A gun was accidentally discharged inside a Boston Police station Saturday night, the department confirmed.

The incident happened inside the A-1 Boston Police station, which is located at 40 Sudbury St., around 11:45 p.m. Saturday. The A-1 station covers downtown Boston and Charlestown.

No one was injured, said Officer Mark Marron, a spokesman for the Boston Police Department.

Police did not release any additional information about the incident. Marron declined to say who the gun belonged to or how it was discharged.

7News reported the gun was accidentally fired by a Boston Police officer.

You'll likely see more and more of this as more cops are running TLR and Surefire lights under their fotays. Light-bearing holsters have a lot of extra space to accommodate a wider light than the trigger guard so lots can get caught on a trigger.
