Guns stolen from checked baggage on Boston bound flight.....

I cable lock (using a real padlock, not a TSA one) my guns to the frame of my luggage when putting them in checked luggage so they cannot easily be taken out of my luggage. A friend had his luggage "misplaced" when flying. The luggage was found in a restroom (not surei if the secure on non-secure side) with the guns missing.

Looking at the guns that couple had stolen, I would say that are persons of considerable taste, culture, refinement and social sophistication.

jet blue marked the outside of my bag with orange tag for flight into Boston. I Had to go pick it up at baggage claim which was right next to the carousel for that flight. Most people got their bags before a lady went somewhere for mine.

My son flies weekly often internationally and has never been stopped. He also has Clear which he says helps a lot. I haven't been stopped since I got global entry while my wife who has PreCheck gets stopped frequently for additional screening.

I have Global Entry and have received the dreaded SSSS inspection once at LaGuardia and once in Albuquerque. I did refrain from making "Snakes on a Plane" jokes until after I cleared security.

The theft of these guns, unless you think the TSA/government guidelines are not strict enough, has absolutely nothing to do with the government, it is simply due to some scumbags working for a private company stealing shit, which, unfortunately, is a normal occurrence every day/hour/minute.

And then people started hijacking planes in the 70s. I am sure it would work out well nowadays, though, right? I graduated from high school in 1986, at least up to that year there were outdoor living classes in which, a couple times a year, we would bring our guns into school and leave them on the lab tables at the front of the room for the day. No cases and no trigger locks, and this was in MA. There would be lessons on each gun, its operation, disassembly, safety, etc. and then we would all go shooting after school. I wish those times never ended, or that we could go back to them, unfortunately the world and particularly people and their general mental states, have changed.

I don't have the means to fly private, but those who do can walk right on without any security screening at all. There are unbooked transfer flights that can be taken relatively low prices, but you have to be willing to take whatever flights are available.
