Handled a S&W Schofield Model 3 in 45 S&W that was for sale. One sweet handgun!

It took all I could do not to throw the credit card down. Had some reservations though. I couldn’t tell if it had been bored to 45LC. It was though in pretty decent shape and was in fireable condition. Pricy but I’m thinking worth it.

Also wasn’t sure if 45 S&W was produced anymore. Come to find out, HSM and Black Hills still make it.

I may have to get this gun!!

I've got a shitty .455 copy made in 1914. It's got great balance; better than a contemporary Colt I used to have, but not quite as nice as a contemporary Webley.

Should remove the trigger guard as it improves on drawing time

Every now and then an empty gets under the extractor. I'm guessing this is because of the small 45 Colt rim. The rim of the 45 S&W is very slightly larger. Maybe it won't be a problem.

I'd make sure that it's proofed for smokeless before buying otherwise you'll be handloading for it.

.45 Schofield is similar to .45 ACP for power as the ACP was made to be identical to the Schofield ballistically. Even a reduced .45 load will hit with good force and is one reason I'm interested in the Webley top breaks.

This is my Uberti reproduction in .45LC
