Newbie first gun. Got me am&p shield lastnight on sale from shooting supply.

I have stripped and assembled a ppq 22.

Now I took the thing down and dis assembled. I did something wrong when I put together. It had no lube and hard to even rack. So I took it down lubed it and when I snapped the spring I must have done something wrong .

Now his part is sticking out and I cannot slide lock. I am in North Attleboro . Any idea what to do. It will slide back but not enough to move the take down lever.

I am freaking out .... if I can open it isn't sure I can fix it.

No one in utube had this issue.btw after fighting my fingers sore.i tapped the thing and it clicked into spot.....

All it needed was a tap. Newbie and ofcourse my wife said did u break your first gun...

The Walter ppq 22 spring assembly freaked me out too.

Anyway sorry for the thread

Relax... I am guessing you just didn't have the recoil spring all the way on the guide rod so it is bunching up and preventing the slide to go all the way back.

Put some muscle into it until you can drop the take down lever. I bet worse case is you trash the spring. No big deal.

If you still can't get, head over to AFS down the street. Bring a fresh 20 and accept the eye roll and chuckles.

But relax

Looks like junk to me. I will do you a favor and take it off your hands for $50.
