Homemade suppressor cover

I think those are just redneck pajamas. They're in fashion right now.
Those look highly useful in this kinda weather. SHTF, slip into your kit and then slip in those camo PJs as an extra warm layer before heading out to the woods with your AR.

Was not paying 100 bucks for one of these. Fire proof felt rated to 1800 degrees then some camo duck cloth with velcro. It should hold up just fine. Cost me like 6 bucks in felt since I had everything else lying around the house.

This is the reason why I like you NES bunch of pricks. Every now and then, you share some really good and useful information. I’ve seen homemade covers on youboob, but they used silicone with a much lower heat tolerance. Could you please tell me how thick the felt is, or how much the whole cover adds to the circumference of the suppressor? Thanks in advance.

Felt it's 1/4 inch thick. You can compress it a bit with the cover. Here is a front Pic to show you what it adds to the diameter.

Looks great!

How much does it weigh? Did you shoot with it already? Did it stay on without issues? Would it be easy to add some folds to the felt running the length of the can, to create air channels for faster cooling?

I got to test the cover out today, as well as the suppressors on our ARs. Finally, yes finally, it was not minus 15 and it wasn't blowing 60mph. It was 55 degrees and the wind was only blowing around 20 mph.

Damn, I'm shocked at how quiet even the ARs were. The loudest noise was the bullet going through the plywood backboard. Very cool. Can't wait to get my hunting rifles back from the gunsmith (getting them threaded) and shoot those.

Now I'm not dumping mags with the ARs but would do ten shots at a time. The outer cover would just get luke warm. Cover is a success.

Those of you that have followed my ridiculous thread trying to deal with my wife's Christensen AR will be happy to know that the brass is coming out at 3 o'clock, so I'm leaving things be.

Both guns shot about 3 inches lower at 100 yards suppressed. Getting fairly consistent results but not like I was getting before with my reloads. I will blame the wind though. With the snow on the ground I couldn't narrow down the gusts and the angle of the wind. Need a calm day before I make final adjustments.

Also shot some of the mixed brass where I had to decrimp the primer pockets. I couldn't believe that they nearly as accurate as the brass I purchased and have been carefully sorting. Good to know.
