Ordered suppressor number two

Im getting one for my .300 blackout guns that keep multiplying.

I don't see much reason to get one for 5.56 if your shooting regular speed loads..but most people do get one. I can still use the 30 cal can for it if I want to.

Odds are end of month, I'll have one on the end of my .300 BLK. Then I'll get a .45 cal for the pistols and be done with it.

Im not doing a trust either....was told its really not worth it.

Im looking into the Huxwrx Suppressors. Flow thru....my application is just for suppressed 300BLK subsonic, which is quiet anyway.

Looking like 1K. Not thrilled but I'll likely buy once and cry once.

for 300 subs you need all the back pressure gas you can get to cycle the bolt. Flow throughs ain't it. Just get a basic Polonium 30 or something tried and true. That said, I just bought a B&T SRBS 762 Inconel currently waiting in jail for my 300BLK pistol but I plan to run mostly 110 grain supers through it.

I want a new dedicated 556 can for better flash suppression than my 30 cal suppressor, less length and weight on a gun I carry up and down mountains all day, and communication when doing team drills. If you don't care about flash or weight/size you probably don't need a dedicated 556 can.

Trusts used to be awesome, back in around 2013 when I got my stuff it meant no fingerprints, notifying sheriff etc. Now, not much of a difference except with inheritance. You can add people to your trust and let them use your NFA stuff without you there, but I have not really run into a situation where I needed this. All my friends are into suppressors now so they have their own stuff. Plus apparently trusts take longer now.

Thanks....I've been reading up on this stuff. The local dealer uses flow thru and says they work for his subsonic. I see most of these uppers have pistol length gas systems......he thought that was weird for a 16" rifle.

That's all i can find built, even with 16' barrels.......not sure why. Would pistol length run subs better or worse?

Im not sure what buffer and spring he has in....or if he has adjustable gas block, but he says he doesn't like them...so I'd assume that's a no.

Battlehawk had the B&T pretty cheap as far as suppressors go.

No, it won't. It can affect POI and accuracy (usually improves it).

It does affect POI but I have not heard this. It is annoying to have 16+ inches of barrel and another 8" of can, especially if you're in and out of vehicles.

Can you use 9/16-24 thread instead of 5/8-24? It requires smaller major diameter on the threads. Muzzle devices are readily available in 9/16-24, my 30-30 is threaded like that and I have griffin and curtis tactical brake/FH mounts.

^^^^ Good info above.

@peterk123 What mounting system will you be using? I would not chop anything unless the goal is to have a shorter package or if there is no other option. What barrel OD is on the savage right now?

Look at 9/16-24 attachments. Maybe even 1/2-28 if barrel is very skinny? Dead Air has KeyMo Zero in 1/2-28 for 30 cal. Or you can use the 9mm ones or even drill out 5.56 specific ones.

Yep, if your guns are not strictly range toys, you would want somewhat good performance out of your cans. Getting 30 cal one that can handle 5.56 first is a popular approach too.

If you have a SO and she is a part of your defensive plan, or hunts with you like OP's wife does - trusts are still worth it, IMO.

What uppers for 300BO do you have? If they run subs well now, they also should run with traditional or flow through cans. Traditional cans are generally a little quieter when used with supersonic rounds, don't know if stays true for subs.

300BO uses pistol length gas systems so you can run both subs and supers. 16" barrels would keep pressure for longer in theory, but i think gas port size makes more of a difference. If you don't have one, might as well get a pistol length upper for use with suppressor. Around 8" seems to be a good spot for dual use, supers still get enough velocity.

I went with the Xeno muzzle brake attachment. Both the AR the 308 will have the 1/2 28 thread on the barrel. The xeno is lighter than the keymo system. My 308 will not need to be chopped. I have sufficient diameter. My wife's 6.5cm needs 5/8 of an inch removed to get to the minimum required. So no problem there neither.

I've got Surefire brakes on my 308 rifles that fit their suppressor - as soon as I'm out of Mass I'm ordering one. Unless a favorable law comes down from the Feds or SCotUS finally rules as it should.
