Question for those Hopedale members.
I was under the impression that jacketed ammo is not allowed and have always shot lead.
But the past few times I have been there I have seen people shooting 9mm fmj. Has anything changed there? Is this allowed? is there some sort fmj under a certain fps is ok now?
thanks!

as long as you can see lead at the top of the bullet. Was what i was told. I have never seen anyone shooting FMJ.

I did when I was there last. A person was shooting generic wally world winchester white box.

9mm fmj on the box. the rounds looked like standard wwb ammo (not reusing boxes). I watched while he loaded a mag to make sure I was not crazy..

That is NOT allowed. We go over this time and time again at the meetings. Its too much for the backstop and it also tends to ricochet back. If you see someone doing that, you can either politely remind them that they are violating the rules or simply report it. If you are not comfortable confronting someone, call one of the numbers listed on the wall and tell them when you were there. All member's info is datalogged from your key card so its easy to figure out who it was as long as you know the general time frame. It is a great club and we are fortunate to have 24-7 access with no range master but that can all change if there are any incidents.

jacketed hollow hollow points are allowed right?

Jacketed hollow points are allowed. I was there last night and actually counted not one or two but SIX signs that clearly state "NO FULL METAL JACKET OR MAGNUM LOADS".
I can't undertand why people still shoot FMJ and then say they didn't know.
