How to ID an old Browning?

Hi,

My Father in-law has "loaned" me his old Deer hunting rifle. It was his father's, which makes the gun at least 60 yrs old. It is a Belgian-made Browning 30.06, semi, with some scroll work and a deer's head etched into the receiver.

Is there a site that I could use to look it up via serial number to figure out what this is?

If you have a question about it, and it's not on the site. call them. They are exceptionally customer friendly.

I called and talked directly to their historian, asked him a question and he called me back within an hour with the info I needed.
