I tore my left bicep tendon several months ago (8 weeks post op now) and all this time recovering and not working has caused some rust on an old rotator cuff injury/surgery from 2007 has had me thinking of putting the compound bow away and getting a crossbow. I filled out the application, had the Doc do her part and a week later it was approved. I researched extensively, took a trip to East Coast Archery (formerly Big Al's Archer's Paridise) in Salisbury, and Jon Petryk the owner got me all set up. I highly reccommend that shop for all of you archery needs! I finally settled on the Ten Point Turbo X. She's a hot one too, 422.1 FPS chrono'd. Needless to say, I am very much looking forward to archery season!

Thank you! Also, you had a lot to do with assisting me in making an informative choice on the Ten Point by reccommending Crossbow nation forum, appreciate it!

That’s a good forum with a lot of good folks on there. It’s a little slow right now but it will pick up with the warmer weather.

One piece of advice is to only shoot 1 arrow at a dot at a time. They are very accurate and arrows are expensive.

I once had to shoot a qualification shoot for a controlled hunt where you had to put 4 out of 6 arrows in a 10” paper plate at 20 yards. I put them at 12,3,6,and 9. The person watching commented that was a large group for a crossbow. I told him that arrows were too expensive to shoot them all in the center.🤪

Ha ha ha! Good thinking! Thank you for the advice! What kind of broadheads are you running? I just picked up some Evo-X mechanical rear-deploying

I have been using NAP Spitfires for many years now out of my Excaliburs. I haven’t shot them anywhere near 400 fps. My Excalibur micro mag maxes out around 340fps. If I was going to run the Spitfires that fast I would band them with a dental band.

Make sure that you stay above the minimum arrow weight.

I swore by the Spitfires with my compound bow. I think the Evo-X is a similar design, they're rated for 500 FPS, and tested/recommended by Ten Point.

You could always post over on CBN and see what others are shooting out of the turbo X

The other thing I would recommend is a good set of high end arrows.; especially at those speeds. I build my own but there are some good custom arrow builders there and Wyvern Creations offers some high end arrows at reasonable prices as well. I buy my arrow components from Wyvern.
