JonJ ~ Was kind enough to post a link to “headstamp codes” in the NES reloading section. I found that this cartridge was made in Germany:
asb Deutsche Waffen-u. Munitionsfabriken A.-G. Eichborndamm 107-127, Berlin - Borsigwalde, Germany – WWII
I would like to know the caliber, the 45 40 on the headstamp doesn’t pan out in my readings. The shell is steel, washed with what looks like copper. The bullet also has steel in it. I don’t shoot this round, it was just one of the cartridges that I happened upon through the years of shooting. Any help on this rascal? Thanks..
