I don't know all the details of the MA AWB, and I'm sure the M10-762 has too many evil features. But I Googled and couldn't find a definitive answer.

Is the M10-762 MA compliant? It's a Romanian AK47 with all-new parts including Tapco muzzle-break, trigger, stock, a nice grip and PKM style sights with chrome lined barrel and gas tube. It includes rails and is compatable with most AK47 aftermarket parts. It's at a good price, around $600.

If it is, I'll pick one up tomorrow. The internet says it's CA compliant, and their AWB is worse than ours so I have hope. The only link I've found for it is on Atlantic Firearms.

Read this - It will help. 922r compliance. http://home.comcast.net/~navy87guy/home/922r.html

If its in the US its 922 compliant. Not his problem unless he starts changing stuff. Delete your post. It just adds confusion.

I looked for the MGL relating to AWs and could only find something on the named guns.

But if memory serves me right, MA also has an "evil features" portion. i.e. it can't have a folding stock, threaded bbl, flash suppressor or bayo lug. But I'm not sure where that is. It figures that the two portions would be in separate laws. Just perfect for tripping up an otherwise law abiding citizen.

Kevlar? Are you there? Len?

I understand both and wouldn't change anything. I'd swap out the stock for a Bumpski bumpfire but keep the grip, which wouldn't change how many US made parts are on the rifle.

I sent a note in to a few local gun stores to see if they could get it or not. They do sell the version with a 10rnd mag, making it compliant in CA without any changes, so I'm guessing it's okay in MA too.

C. 140 S. 121 defines what makes a banned gun by referencing what was in the Fed ban (now expired). Glidden's book has the exact wording from the referenced former Fed law.

C. 140 S. 131M states the penalties for possession.

It's not codified in MA law.

The definition of "assault weapon" in MGL 140-121 (which you linked) references and adopts the language the now expired Federal AWB...

“Assault weapon”, shall have the same meaning as a semiautomatic assault weapon as defined in the federal Public Safety and Recreational Firearms Use Protection Act, 18 U.S.C. section 921(a)(30) as appearing in such section on September 13, 1994...

18 USC 921(a)(30) said:

I have a definite answer. After speaking to a number of local gun stores who searched all of their distributors, ONE found a single destributor that carried an MA compliant version. It has no changes other than a 10 round mag. I'll confirm with pictures when I actually own one, he said he's trying to get it (And the only one other currently available)

Like others have said, the flash hider is the issue. The Tapco RAZR is classified as a flash hider. So you are gonna have to remove it and replace it with an actual muzzle brake/compensator and have it blind pinned or silver soldered.
