KAG Arms

It’s a misrepresentation of my character.
No dog in the fight. This is nuts. Delete the thread and move on.

You’ve never minded taking my money for firearms or ammunition in the past. I don’t work for you, so idk who you’ve fired but maybe a trip to the doctor is in order, you seem to have memory loss. Im a paying customer. I’ve also ordered other firearms from other dealers and didn’t have an issue with getting an estimate of delivery, since there are laws on how firearms are shipped, providing an estimate isn’t a difficult process.

I simply asked for an estimated time of arrival. You’re projecting your behavior as mine, calling me a petulant child seems to describe your behavior, not mine. It’s professional to provide an estimated time of arrival for a purchase, something your feeble mind can’t fathom, which also explains your lack of vocabulary. None of this is about me. It’s about your unprofessional behavior and generally disrespectful communication.

Enjoy your tiny existence atop your imaginary throne of superiority. I’m sure my loss of business won’t keep you up at night let alone make any difference, you can’t comprehend your wrongdoings anyway. Get bent f@ckwad, may the veiny dick of authority find you un-lubed and unprepared.

I thought you were not bothered and won't reply here any more. Can you please have some integrity, be a man of your word and honor your commitment

I thought you were an upstanding business owner I could rely on, seems you failed in that metric. I regret the business I’ve sent you over the last 5 years. Take care of yourself.

Understandably, however none of that was communicated, and if he was actually able to source one, providing an estimated time of arrival after 48 hours isn’t impossible nor improbable.

If he told you he would alert you once it arrived, any further need for you to have your hand held is your responsibility, not his.

All of this for an ‘I’ll call you when it comes in’?

Wow.

Anyone have that ‘Lighten up Francis’ video thing from Stripes?

Holy crap….

Imagine if KAG committed to a day and the gun didn’t arrive by that day?

This thread is good but the OP rant/trashing of KAG would have been epic.

KAG is awesome to deal with.

I really do not understand your issue with the process.

I have ordered plenty of firearms and ammo from @KAG Arms . It typically went like this,

Me - Hey Kag, can ypu order me xxxxxxx
KAG - No problem, it will cost $$$$$
Me - Perfect, order it please
KAG - No problem, will let you know when it arrives

Time passes

KAG - Hey Horatio, xxxxx is in my shop
Me - Thanks KAG. I am busy at work, can I pick it up in a couple of weeks.
KAG - no problem

Isn't this how all businesses work with special orders?

@SushiGlock, you need to relax man. Also, if you need a ETA down to a minute, never ever order something from Optics Planet, 😆

I simply asked for an estimated time of arrival.
You seem to be laboring under the delusion that small businesses, with few employees have the resources to function like massive companies.
KAG does not have a customer service department to deal with needy customers. So just a few points that I would ask you to consider.

1. He special ordered something for you without asking for you to pay in full or even for a deposit. At this point, if you fail to live up to your end he has zero recourse. If you were to get hit by a bus, he still has to pay for your item.
2. KAG has assumed 100% of the risk, and gave you the respect that you were a man of your word and would not stiff him.
3. You are operating under the assumption that he was given information, and withheld it from you on purpose. It is entirely possible that he just did not know. I suspect that sometimes orders arrive quickly and sometimes can take a while. You demonstrated immediately that you were high maintenance and I bet he knows better than to take a guess at how long it would take the item to arrive. If he had said, "No ETA given, but they usually arrive in 3-5 days" on day 6 you would have sent him a message that he said it would take 5 days. Shipping times are totally beyond his control.
4. He doesn't get paid until you pick up your rifle, but has spent time ordering it for you and has to pay for it. As someone that runs a small business, I can tell you that just placing the order on nothing but your word, is a sign of respect, you should recognize that.
5. You seem to think that your time is more valuable than his. Take a look at the time stamps of when he replied. Well beyond normal business hours and you know he is a one man band. He replied to a customer well after work hours and when he became frustrated at your impatience, your instinct was to show up on NES and trash the guy, trying to harm his business and effect his livelihood.
Personally, I would have replied to him with an apology for nagging the shit out of him and asked him to reconsider. If you had replied with a note saying something like " I'm sorry. Work has me totally stressed out and I am swamped. I wanted to see if I could work it in so you were not sitting on my rifle, unpaid, for too long", I bet he would have been receptive.

Get bent f@ckwad, may the veiny dick of authority find you un-lubed and unprepared.
This sounds like a threat to me and is not at all cool. It's pretty clear to me that you are the type of person that will try to inflict damage if you don't get your way.
So what was your intention starting this thread? It was clearly more than to give others the heads up that a dealer might be hard to do business with. You could have done that with "feedback". You were hoping to cost him money and damage his reputation.
I think you owe him an apology.

LOL if in stock at the distributor how hard would it be to provide a rough ETA? Might have avoided the drama and it is a reasonable expectation from most customers. That said, KAG may have gotten a sense that if he gave an ETA, OP would be contacting him hourly with "Is there yet? Is it there yet? Is it there yet? You said it would be here in X days and it's already 9:02am on X day."
[laugh]

That, right there, seems to be the source of the issue.
I've requested firearms that were not at a store before. Said store placed an order for it within day, or so (he actually ordered three IIRC). They came in a LOT sooner than either of us expected. I was able to go that night to get it (the other two had already sold in those few hours).
IMO/IME small shops don't have the resources to sit online checking things constantly for those few needy people. They have customers walking in, or other tasks that also fill up their days. With the holidays here I'm sure they're even more busy.
Again, a <5 minute phone call probably would have taken care of everything. Seems like people are faster to use texting, or chat apps, more than an actual phone call these days. Some things are just better either via the phone, or in person. Hell, I was thinking about going to the store that I ordered a couple of lowers through (about a 30-45 minute drive) before I just called. It was going to voicemail before the person cut into that to answer my questions. Not my first dealing with them, won't be my last either.

I know neither party involved in this dispute. But to me this thread started as basically a bad one star online review.

He has 105 Google reviews, ( most very positive). That is the place to complain if someone is not satisfied with their buying experience, not here.

I don’t remotely agree with the OP’s “review” but this thread is under the Gun Shop and Reviews section…

IBTL.

I contemplated posting this as I usually don't wade into matters that don't involve me, however I am trying to get better at voicing my opinions. If I am wrong and someone has a succinct argument to the contrary, my mind can be changed, I don't profess to be the know all be all and have the liberal disease of being unable to freely or critically think.

It doesn't sound like he lost your business, per your screenshots of the conversation it sounds like he no longer wants it. semantics, but it matters.
Generally, I’ve had good experiences shopping here, but my last attempt has me fuming. It’s not out of the ordinary to ask for an eta for an ordered firearm, especially around the holidays due to shipping issues and generally everyone’s busy. I’m exceptionally busy this time of year and need to schedule everything.

That said KAG Arms lost my business today, and I’m sad to say it. I asked for an eta twice, and was told “ we’re done, I no longer want to work with you”. Attached are the screen shots since he thinks I’m gutless and won’t post it.

Have a good one Sharif, ( probably misspelled ).
Your arrogance coming off as though your time is more valuable than his or anyone else is very telling. You should reevaluate your ego. This is not meant as disrespect although you will probably take it as such. I mean it empathetically as in be able to joke about/with yourself and don't take yourself or life so seriously all the time. Your blood pressure will likely thank you for it if nothing else.
Why do you believe your time is more valuable than his? As others have already pointed out he showed you respect professionally by ordering this for you without deposit and being quick with his responses outside of what many consider normal business hours. Personally he showed respect as you noted by "read my mind" and answering your cost question before you could even ask it. He responded to you promptly, finding the item fast, (which speaks to his developed professional relationships as one of the serious about his business good guys, not everyone gets that sort of treatment from distributors etc. or can procure a low stock or difficult to find item that fast), and he told you "ill let you know as soon as it arrives". Not sure what else this proprietor could have done to keep you content as a customer. Once it comes in, he lets you know, and you work around your schedules to come up with a time conducive to both of your schedules, this is called being an adult that follows societal norms, it's not rocket science. You didn't make it to have grey hairs on your head without having this one figured out (assuming the profile picture yesterday was you.
I'm betting you were just having an off day and this stressful situation exacerbated it. It happens to us all, we're human brother. No harm no foul but don't let your emotions dictate your responses, think not just feel.

I agree with fencer on this, your continued and further insults are getting very close to, if not amount to, libel, and you should stop.

agree to disagree, and move on. Sometimes that's just life. How boring would this world be if all 8 billion of us were the same?

Nah, here is more fun. But thanks for the link. Looks like there are some interesting reviews-

Not my favorite and just unnessicarily rude. He know alot. He has a great selection and he is smart. Perhaps he could try and be less difficult as other reviews has addressed.

I’m not sure how these guys have such good reviews unless they’re paid for? I’ve been actively bidding on Gun Broker for one of their items it’s been 3 days of watching it and within the last 30 minutes the seller blocked me for no apparent reason? Sounds like I got cheated out of a bid….

They don't do honest business. Take your money elsewhere. Avoid at all costs on gunbroker. They will scam you unless you pay them more than they advertise. And then lies about auto blocking people. They are sociopaths.

But NES drama junkies, don't get too excited. He uses an automated tool to block zero feedback bids. One of my kids works in a public facing job and 99% of the people who get bent out of shape are total Karens. Also to end the Gooogle reviews on a positive note-

I can’t stress my appreciation for KAG enough. I’ve purchased many pieces from Sherif and he’s always been available to answer all my questions. If you’re looking for a place with the cheapest prices/ junk products, this isn’t it. If you’re an enthusiast looking for a place that has deep rooted knowledge and experience, then you’ve found your new favorite store.
As a side note, as a woman it’s common to be overlooked or overwhelmed when shopping for firearms but I promise that was never the case with these guys and for that I’m extremely grateful.
