I've posted in the past about my teen girl and boy wanted to learn to shoot. It was agreed that a 22 rifle was the way to go. Unfortunately, one kid is right handed and the other left. So, I am thinking a 10/22 that they can share over a single shot bolt action. She is 13 years old about 5'3" and he is 17 about 5'7".

Any suggestions on make and model?

As always, thanks for your input.

10/22. Smple enough. See if they like it and shoot it enough. If yes then upgrade them to something fancy. Worst case scenario you gain a 10/22. We all need a 10/22 in the collection.

I have a Ruger Take-down that gets little to no love when the S&W 15-22 goes with to the range, my daughter's (now 14 y.o.) favorite gun to shoot.

Love my 10/22, and so does my wife. So even if your kids end up hating it, you can plink the steal pig from a 100 yards with it all day, lol.

what about eye dominance? make sure of their eye dominance.
a 10/22 is a very good opption if they don't catch the shooting bug its a easy gun to re sell.

10/22 will be good for right and left handed. Bolt gun would be hard for the lefty. I'm right handed but shoot rifle lefty. That's why I bought a 10/22. Best of luck
