Yep it is. Thousands upon thousands of species have come and gone. And of course these are the same idiots that think they can affect climate as if it needs fixing.

That's because their primary mission is government expansion and more control rather than minimalization and letting the free market decide the direction things will go.
To the left, it's just another excuse to hire more government employees, make more rules, laws and regulations.....they don't care if anything beneficial is produced as long as it increases the payroll numbers and certain people's bottom line.
It is a plan destined for ultimate failure. This solar/wind energy thing is a prime example in our time. For every solution they come up with, they introduce ten more significant problem issues.

You cannot maintain any type of viable national defense manufacturing capabilities running on strictly solar or wind or both.....the needed horsepower just isn't there. WWII proved that beyond any shadow of a doubt. We out manufactured the entire world combined.

This. We can't f*** with nature, but if nature does happen to get f***ed with we will exhaust all resources trying to unf*** it, even it means f***ing it doubly in the process.

I also don't completely understand how mankind fits into this whole non-interference with nature thing. People are animals. We exist in and interact with nature, sometimes altering it in the process. Some of those changes are understood to be the cost of doing business. Some are understood to be unacceptably destructive. Between the two there's a whole world of grey.

Years ago I was stumbling around in the White Mountain National Forest with a few friends. We got to a little rocky stream and, not wanting to get my feet wet, I moved a human head sized rock from the edge out into the middle for us to step on. Out of nowhere this ranger pops out of the woods and starts yelling at me about it. She had apparently been following us. I explained that the stream was already full of big rocks and I just moved one of them to step on. Not allowed, apparently. If a bear had moved the rock it would be cool, but because this particular animal has opposable thumbs and a checking account it's not allowed?
