M16A1 rear sight

Does anyone know where I can find a parts kit for an A1 rear sight?

I am trying to build new sights for a different rifle and the A1 rear looks like an excellent starting point.

No one seems to have them anywhere. I might be able to piece the kit together, but the windage knob is all but impossible to get.

I am not above machining my own parts if I can find a print. No one seems to have that out there either.

Any ideas?

DPMS possibly. I have been able to get A2 sight parts from them before. Their website isn't working for me now, but if the site won't work a call might.

You might check with Specialized Armament. They stock lots of Colt parts. If he doesn't have what you need, he may be able to steer you in the right direction.

TechSights uses some A1 parts in their sights - might check with them, too.


ETA - saw a couple on fleabay and gunbroker, but $$$. Enough money that you might consider buying a Daniel Defense 1.5 rear sight and cannibalizing the parts.
