It's way simpler than that, states that are only 50% garbage link a carry license to a full bypass of waiting periods, etc. I don't agree with these laws but it's far less obstructionist legally than a mandatory wait period for everyone. Someone in those states who gets a carry license more than likely already has at least a few guns they own.To enforce a first purchase only, cool down, you'd need either a registration database (of at least the first purchase), that a retailer could access, of a licensing system that either, shows if that first purchase was made on the card, of a searchable database.
I agree with the logic, why would you? But the devil is in the details.
Maybe if it’s not your first purchase particular location it would be in the FFL‘s bound book anyway. Don’t kill yourself. They are all registered when bought from an FFL…To enforce a first purchase only, cool down, you'd need either a registration database (of at least the first purchase), that a retailer could access, of a licensing system that either, shows if that first purchase was made on the card, of a searchable database.

Bound book records don't go to the ATF until the FFL goes out of business (drops their FFL)Maybe if it’s not your first purchase particular location it would be in the FFL‘s bound book anyway. Don’t kill yourself. They are all registered when bought from an FFL…
We are talking about Maine, MA didn't even put in a waiting period with the new BS laws. And in Massachusetts, we all know they have a list of shit anyway. I guess it would cost money to set up a system to avoid the cool down.
True enough, it's just more BSBut none of this has to do with safety or suicide prevention
I know the ATF doesn’t have the bound books but if you go to the FFL they’ve already bought from Me he’s got the record. He knows he already bought a gun…. that doesn’t matter what state you live in.Bound book records don't go to the ATF until the FFL goes out of business (drops their FFL)

as i reload all calibers for my rifles - it is a damn fact that time had come to begin 9mm reloads as well, and bullet casting.Next will be a background check and 3 day waiting period to buy ammo.
Been thinking about getting out of MA in a year or two. Was just in Maine this weekend and it really is quite lovely, hate to see stuff like this.
NH remains the top choice but ME always seemed like a good alternative.
NH it's a mystery to me. I have a hard time believing only conservative Mass people are going there. I hope it remains as good as everyone says.Unfortunately with the migration of Ma**h***s to NH it’s only a matter of time before they contaminate the whole state and start demanding MA style laws. Southern NH is already known as MA North.
That's cute claptrap given a good chunk of southern nh is dark red. most of their moonbat problems are domestic, not imported.Unfortunately with the migration of Ma**h***s to NH it’s only a matter of time before they contaminate the whole state and start demanding MA style laws. And there is no money in being a rep, so no career politicians.@Rockrivr1 NH has the highest state level representation rate in the country. They have over 400 reps. This means districts are very small and gerrymandering is difficult. Our of all the states in new england its much more difficult to push gun garbage. Even if the house flips back, it'll still be difficult. NH legislative session is short, and a lot of shit gets killed/ITLed vs passing. It's literally the single thing that keeps them out of trouble. Once you understand this it's easier to comprehend why NH appears wonky. While the BDC population centers go D, everyone else is far more center/right.
As it should be.And there is no money in being a rep, so no career politicians.

Can only go by what friends in the Nashua area are telling us. They state rather strongly that Ma**h***s are ruining NH. Think I’d believe long time NH residents over a MA person telling me I’m wrong. Thanks for the sarcasm though.
Another huge win for NH, demorats know how to keep them in business. I was told if this passed, Kittery will be moving its firearm dept to NH.
Sometimes people’s perceptions aren’t always reality. If you are looking for lefty massh*les ruining the state you probably start seeing them everywhere, but in reality it may or may not be that bad.Can only go by what friends in the Nashua area are telling us. That's cute
Sad but true. That started happening over 30 years ago when all the computer companies moved to NH bringing them then in. However there are a lot of homegrown lefties too!Unfortunately with the migration of Ma**h***s to NH it’s only a matter of time before they contaminate the whole state and start demanding MA style laws. A similar thing happened in NJ to a woman waiting on her permit and the state could have cared less! And when the woman who fears for her safety, buys a gun, and that day or the next two gets severely injured or killed by a deranged lover after being told she has to wait 72 hours to possess it, then what?
Most cities and college towns in NH are hard blue…Nashua has been hard "D" for a long time. That's not really new.
Oh, it's not just MA-holes, although we issue at least a dozen NH licenses to them each day just in our office. There are a lot of CA, CT, NJ, NY, CO, and MN people lately. A few months ago, we were seeing more WA and HI people. Quite a few people from TX lately, but the ones coming in are frequently born in CA, or at least complaining that TX is "becoming too right wing". Everyone is returning from FL. I mean, come on. You went there to get old and die - now stay there!NH it's a mystery to me. I have a hard time believing only conservative Mass people are going there. I hope it remains as good as everyone says.
As above, it's people from all over the country, and a good percentage indicate by what they are saying that they lean way left. A few come in from MA and complain about the taxes that MA wants to charge now, but by coming here, they are just pushing the taxes up for those of us here and themselves (gonna need new roads, schools, infrastructure, police/fire services, etc.)Can only go by what friends in the Nashua area are telling us. It is that bad. See above. (just not all of them are from MA).

I used to have a bumper sticker on one of my cars quite a few years ago....it said:Oh, it's not just MA-holes, although we issue at least a dozen NH licenses to them each day just in our office.
