I recently bought a Norinco MAK 90 Sporter, the first two numbers of the serial number are "94", no flash hider, no bayonet lug and it has the thumbhole stock.
Please correct me if I am wrong here, I am under the impression that it is a post 1989 ban gun but a pre 94 Clinton Ban gun. The reason I suspect it is a Pre 94 Ban gun is that I read several times that the last MAK 90's were imported in May of 1994, I know the first 2 numbers of the serial # are the import date so am I correct it made its way into the country before September 1994?
I am thinking that even if it can be confirmed that it is a PRE Sept 1994 gun it was designed to comply with the 922r, I want to put a collapsible stock on this but I fear it will then be a non compliant 922r gun. Im under the assumption that if I tamper with the thumbhole stock I would need to put 5 or 6 "USA made parts" to cover the 922r laws.
I am hoping someone can answer these questions for me.
Thank You in advance
