Very impressed with the mount. Rock solid, so far holds zero when removed and re-installed. Doesn't look like an AR mount (which I like). Could live without the big logo (maybe I'll paint over it).

No, seems to work just as well. Locks in place securely.

It does allow co-witness through the very bottom of the red dot if I set the sight to 200yds or higher.

That is a Primary Arms red dot but if I like having a red dot on there I will probably swap it for a Aimpoint.

looks like one of the better sidemounts compared to what i've seen so far. a bit on the pricey side though.
don't like that cluster of round holes though. curious to how that locking mechanism works. do you think you can snap a few pics of the underside of the mount
thanks

I'll try- essentially it slides on from the rear and then the handle cams the clamp down tight.

I much prefer this to putting rails on the gun.

Here's a pic of the flip side of the mount. I liked having the red dot on there so I sprang for the aimpoint. Better co-witness (can see more of the sight). Just barely clears the dust cover on the front.

Have you done any testing to see how well it returns to zero after being removed? Can you get the dust cover off and bolt etc while it's on there?

Yes it returns to zero just fine after removal. I cannot remove the dust cover with it on. There is very little clearance. I probably could get a business card between the dust covers for the sight and the rifle's dust cover. I think this is necessary to get it to co-witness with the low sights of the AK. But since it returns to zero I think it's a non issue.
